The Rotary Club of Patong Beach this week donated B370,000 worth of monitoring equipment and a defibrillator for use in an ambulance at Patong Hospital. The ambulance was originally donated by the Club, along with the Doctors Association of Zurich and the Rotary Club Uetliberg, Switzerland after the Tsunami 11 years ago, but has lacked this necessary equipment. RCoPB President Walter Wyler and Doctors Association of Zurich representative Dr Peter Tschudi handed over the equipment to Patong Hospital’s Director, Dr Sirichai Silparcha and staff on Monday, 7 March, 2016. Dr Sirichai said the equipment would add great value to the hospital’s ability to treat patients quickly. Mr Wyler said RCoPB saw donating the funds for the equipment as an ongoing commitment toward the Phuket community in the medical area.
