On January 29, Rotarian Larry delivered our latest load of food and supplies to the village of Ao Khoei north of Takuapa.  He was accompanied by a second truck load of food, donated by Khun Tukta, owner of the TNT Bar in Kamala. 

The new village, located about two kilometers from Ao Khoei is named Pak Trium.  We will be continuing to deliver food supplies to the village for the next three months as they recover their fishing fleet, and build their new houses. 
 
The villagers have now begun repairing their fishing fleet of twenty-one boats with funding from our Rotary Club, and have also started construction on their new houses which they hope to have completed by the end of March.  The village women have begun a project to embroider pillows and little bags, for sale to supplement their income.
 
We survied the site for their future water well and filter system, which our Rotary Club will construct, and will have it operational by the time their houses are finished.
 
Next trip up there is scheduled for this week-end, to begin construction of the water well, and deliver more food.
