This club has supported this community for 15 years, with millions in donations that have help build and rebuild this beautiful island. Tonight, with overwhelming support from the Past Presidents that nominated me and the members who elected me I step into this esteemed position of President of the Rotary Club of Patong Beach. It is a position I take with reverence, knowing that I am responsible to you as members to carry on it traditions and serve the community faithfully.
I take this role very seriously. My Uncle devoted most of his professional career to Rotary, was a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a charter President – if I mess up – he will let me know from on high! Fortunately I’m sure he’s also cheering me on.
Those of you that know me well, know, that I will work very hard over the next year to guide this club to a better place. I can’t do it alone. The board and I very much need all of your support, regardless of membership, to help us have a good time while we help our community get to a better place.
I’d like to thank Past District Governor Orachon and Assistant Governor Wanna for joining us on this special night. PP Andy and the outgoing board for leading the club over the past year. I’d like to thank the incoming board for the hard work they are going to do over the next year. And of course my husband Gary for his loving support.
