The Role of the Sponsor

The role of a member's sponsor is not only to find new potential members for for our Rotary Club of Patong Beach but also to become the coach of that new prospective regaridng Rotary and ensuring new members remain members.
 
 

Sponsor Recognition program

 
Sponsor a new member and you'll not only strengthen your club, you'll also get recognized for your efforts. Through the New Member Sponsor Recognition program, sponsors will now receive a specially designed Rotary pin and recognition on Rotary's website.

Invite

 
Bring a prospective member to the meeting or drive them there!
 
  • Proper introduction during table introductions should include his/her name
  • his/her connection to our community o employer/organization
  • Previous club affiliation if any?

First Meeting

  • Introduce him/her to the Club President
  • Use the time before, during, and after meetings to introduce your prospective Rotarian to as many other members as possibl
  • Ensure you and your prospective Rotarian sit at a different table each meeting. Every Rotarian at the table should take ownership in engaging with prospective members including answering various questions he/she may have

During Evaluation Period
 
During or after the visit, the prospective member should hear a description of:
  • Community service efforts and successes
  • The international scope of Rotary service and fellowship
  • Rotary's emphasis on high standards of character and integrity
  • Rotary's broad-based community representation
  • Rotary's attendance and dress code requirements and the club's dues structure
  • Sit together with the member and explain to him/her how our club is organized and working
  • Make sure the prospective new member knows there is a onetime admission fee and an annual subscription
After Evaluation Period
 
Fill out a Member Proposal form after the prospective new members have attended a few meetings (at least 3) and after you informed the new prospective members about the points mentioned above and give it to Membership Chair –
  • Remain the coach of that member after the induction
  • Be at the Fireside with your prospective member
  • Be the Mentor and Coach of the new member
  • Check regularly whether the new members still feel well as a member of our Rotary Club
As a sponsor you can find all necessary information about the club, Rotary International, the constitution and/or bylaws on our website or by asking the Membership Chair. Use these information ensuring a prospective member know as much as possible about Rotary and our club before filling and submitting the new members proposal from.
